The University of Greater Manchester has announced its International Excellence Scholarships for the 2026/27 academic year, offering tuition fee discounts of up to £5,000 to outstanding international students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies in the United Kingdom.

According to the university, the International Excellence Scholarships provide financial support for eligible self-funded international students enrolling in selected programmes.

Award categories include:
- Gold Award: £4,000 tuition fee discount for students achieving First Class or 70% GPA equivalent
- Silver Award: £3,000 tuition fee discount for Upper Second Class or 60% GPA equivalent
- Bronze Award: £2,000 tuition fee discount for other eligible applicants
The package applies to:
- Undergraduate programmes
- Postgraduate taught degrees including MA, MSc, and MBA
- PhD and doctoral programmes
The university noted that MRes programmes are not eligible for the scholarships.
International Merit Package Expands Access Worldwide
Students from countries outside the selected Global Excellence list, as well as applicants applying through education agents or representative partners, may qualify for the International Merit Package.
Scholarship levels under this category include:
- Up to £3,000 for Gold Award recipients
- Up to £2,000 for Silver Award recipients
- Up to £1,000 for Bronze Award recipients
The initiative aims to broaden access to international education while rewarding academic excellence among applicants from diverse backgrounds.
Prestigious Global Scholars Awards Introduced

- Women in STEM Award: £500 tuition discount for eligible female students in Engineering, Computing, Psychology, Medical Biology, and Biomedical Sciences
- Family Discount: £500 discount for immediate family members of current students or offer holders
- Transnational Education (TNE) Progression Award: £500 support for students progressing from approved overseas partner institutions
These awards may be combined with International Excellence Scholarships, provided the total funding does not exceed Year 1 tuition fees.
