Womankind Worldwide has opened applications for the position of UK & Global Advocacy Manager, offering an opportunity for an experienced feminist advocacy professional to contribute to global efforts advancing women’s rights and gender justice.

The full-time hybrid role can be based in either Kenya or the United Kingdom and forms part of the organization’s Policy and Advocacy team. The successful candidate will lead evidence-based advocacy initiatives, strengthen partnerships with women’s rights movements, and influence policy discussions at national, regional, and global levels.

Position Overview

The UK & Global Advocacy Manager will provide strategic leadership for the organization’s advocacy and influencing work. The role focuses on advancing a transformative feminist agenda through partner-centered, evidence-based, and decolonial advocacy approaches.

Working within a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will help shape policy engagement strategies, support movement partners, and strengthen advocacy capacity across Womankind’s focus countries.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Policy Influence

The role will lead Womankind’s advocacy engagement across UK, regional, and international policy spaces.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing advocacy strategies and implementation plans
  • Conducting policy and stakeholder mapping
  • Coordinating participation in advocacy events and forums
  • Supporting partner engagement in policy processes
  • Developing strategic advocacy messages

Feminist Research and Knowledge Production

The successful candidate will oversee the development and dissemination of knowledge products aligned with Womankind’s advocacy priorities.

This includes:

  • Research reports
  • Policy briefs
  • Advocacy publications
  • Evidence-based influencing materials

All outputs are expected to be guided by decolonial feminist principles and the organization’s Strategy 2030 framework.

Partner Learning and Capacity Strengthening

The position will support partner organizations through:

  • Advocacy skills development
  • Knowledge exchange initiatives
  • Cross-country learning opportunities
  • Regional and international collaboration platforms

The role aims to strengthen the capacity of women’s rights organizations to influence policy and decision-making processes effectively.

Programme Management

The UK & Global Advocacy Manager will also contribute to organizational planning and monitoring processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Annual planning and budgeting
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Learning (MERL)
  • Development of advocacy measurement tools
  • Reporting on programme outcomes and impact

Ideal Candidate Profile

Womankind is seeking a highly experienced professional with a strong background in feminist advocacy and policy influencing.

Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • Postgraduate qualification in international development, gender studies, legal studies, human rights, or a related field
  • At least five years of experience in women’s rights and feminist advocacy
  • Demonstrated expertise in UK and global policy engagement
  • Strong understanding of intersectional feminism and women’s rights frameworks
  • Proven experience in advocacy-focused research and knowledge production
  • Experience supporting partners across diverse cultural and geographical contexts
  • Strong programme management and MERL skills
  • Previous line management experience
