IsraAID is Seeking a Regional Programme Manager for Integrated Nutrition Programme in East Africa

IsraAID is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to join its humanitarian team as a Programme Manager for the Regional Nutrition Programme, based in Nairobi, Kenya. The position offers an opportunity to lead and coordinate a multi-country initiative focused on addressing acute and chronic malnutrition among vulnerable populations across East Africa.
The role forms part of IsraAID’s Integrated Community Nutrition Management Programme, a regional initiative implemented in partnership with Edesia and various government, community, and international stakeholders.

About the Regional Nutrition Programme
The Integrated Community Nutrition Management Programme is designed to improve nutrition outcomes for:
- Children under five years of age
- Pregnant and lactating women
- Nutritionally vulnerable populations
The programme adopts a community-based and integrated approach that combines:
- Acute malnutrition treatment
- Preventive nutrition interventions
- Community-based surveillance systems
- Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) rehabilitation
- School-based nutrition screening
- Caregiver support initiatives
- Digital Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems
- Supply chain strengthening
- Multi-sectoral referral pathways
The initiative is currently being implemented in Kenya and Uganda, with plans for future regional expansion.
Key Responsibilities of the Programme Manager
The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management and implementation of the regional nutrition programme while ensuring alignment with organizational standards and donor expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
Programme Management and Coordination
- Lead programme planning and implementation activities
- Develop and monitor workplans and implementation schedules
- Coordinate programme delivery across Kenya and Uganda
- Identify and address implementation bottlenecks
- Support programme scale-up and transition planning
- Manage project cycles from inception to completion
Technical Programme Quality
- Ensure quality implementation of nutrition interventions
- Support integration of nutrition, WASH, education, and protection activities
- Promote community-led and context-specific approaches
- Facilitate learning and knowledge exchange across programme locations
- Ensure compliance with technical standards and donor requirements
Operations and Supply Chain Support
- Coordinate nutrition commodity management and logistics
- Support procurement and warehousing processes
- Monitor operational risks and mitigation measures
- Ensure adherence to programme timelines and budgets
- Support resource tracking and financial monitoring
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)
- Strengthen programme monitoring systems
- Support data-driven decision-making
- Contribute to donor and internal reporting
- Promote accountability and feedback mechanisms
- Capture and share lessons learned and best practices
Partnerships and Representation
- Coordinate with governments, donors, UN agencies, and implementing partners
- Represent the programme in relevant coordination forums
- Support stakeholder engagement and partnership development
- Strengthen collaboration with local communities and institutions
Required Qualifications
Candidates interested in applying must possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in:
- Nutrition
- Public Health
- International Development
- Project Management
- Social Sciences
- Humanitarian Affairs
- Or a related field
- A Master’s degree is considered an advantage.
Experience Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in humanitarian or development programme management
- Experience managing nutrition, health, or multi-sector humanitarian programmes
- Strong project planning and implementation experience
- Experience in partner coordination and stakeholder engagement
- Knowledge of MEAL systems and supply chain processes
