Right To Play is recruiting a People and Culture Business Partner to help strengthen its global workforce and organisational culture across multiple countries.
The role offers an opportunity for experienced human resources professionals to contribute to an international development organisation focused on protecting, educating, and empowering children through the power of play.
The full-time position is open to candidates legally eligible to work in several locations, including London, Addis Ababa, Accra, Kampala, and other Right To Play operational countries across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and North America.

Key Responsibilities of the People and Culture Business Partner
The People and Culture Business Partner plays a strategic and operational role in supporting Country Offices and strengthening global HR practices. Reporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer, the successful candidate will help improve operational effectiveness, employee relations, organisational development, and diversity initiatives.
The role is divided across several key responsibility areas:
Operational Delivery and HR Support
The Business Partner provides guidance on global People and Culture policies while supporting local HR teams to ensure compliance with country-specific labour laws and organisational standards. Responsibilities include:
- Advising management and employees on HR policies and best practices.
- Supporting the localisation of policies to reflect local cultures and operational realities.
- Identifying and mitigating people-related risks in Country Offices.
- Supporting safeguarding, safety, and security compliance procedures.
The position also works closely with Country Directors, logistics teams, and global leadership to strengthen HR operations and maintain a positive employee experience across international offices.
Employee Relations and Workforce Support
A major aspect of the role involves overseeing employee relations and ensuring ethical workplace practices across Country Offices.
Key duties include:
- Managing whistleblowing reports and ensuring timely investigations.
- Supporting disciplinary procedures and conflict resolution processes.
- Conducting investigations in collaboration with legal firms and external investigators.
- Monitoring employee feedback, surveys, and exit interviews to identify workplace trends and improvement opportunities.
The role also acts as a systems administrator for whistleblowing and anti-terrorism compliance platforms.
Driving Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility
Right To Play places significant emphasis on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA). The People and Culture Business Partner helps integrate DEIA principles into organisational policies, systems, and workplace culture.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the implementation of DEIA strategies and measurable goals.
- Coordinating DEIA training programs and awareness initiatives.
- Managing learning activities and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Analysing DEIA data to recommend improvements and monitor progress.
The role works closely with the Global DEIA Committee to strengthen inclusion and belonging across the organisation’s global workforce.
Skills and Experience Required
Right To Play is seeking an experienced HR professional with strong international development and organisational leadership expertise.
Preferred qualifications and experience include:
- A master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organisational Behaviour, or a related field.
- Extensive experience working within international development organisations.
- Strong knowledge of labour laws and HR operations across multiple countries.
- Experience delivering HR services through a business partner model.
- Proven expertise in employee relations, coaching, and people management.
- Fluency in English, with French, Arabic, or Portuguese considered an advantage.
The organisation is also looking for candidates with strong emotional intelligence, resilience, professionalism, and the ability to influence and collaborate across multicultural teams.
International Scope and Leadership Responsibilities
The People and Culture Business Partner supports more than 10 HR specialists globally while providing strategic coaching to senior leadership teams and Country Directors. The role includes international travel, including visits to high-risk operational environments, up to six times annually.
The successful candidate will lead global communities of practice and contribute to organisational improvement by recommending policy enhancements, strengthening safeguarding systems, and supporting workforce planning initiatives.
Salary and Benefits
As a national position, compensation varies depending on the candidate’s location. Example salary ranges include:
- Uganda: UGX 9,750,052 per month
- Ghana: GHS 15,156 per month
- United Kingdom: GBP 54,374 per year
- Canada: CAD 90,418 per year
