Eligible Countries
Applicants must hold citizenship in one of the eligible programme countries. These include:
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Kosovo, Mexico, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, and Vietnam.
The programme is specifically designed to strengthen ties between Sweden and partner countries by supporting talent development and cross-border collaboration.
Who Can Apply?
The traineeship is open to two main groups of applicants:
- Current international master’s students in Sweden
- Must be completing their degree by summer 2026
- Must graduate on time
- Former international students in Sweden
- Must have completed a master’s degree in Sweden
- Must have graduated in 2023 or later
In addition, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold citizenship in one of the eligible countries
- Be able to commit to a full-time traineeship for up to six months
- Demonstrate strong alignment between their academic background and the traineeship role
- Clearly articulate how the opportunity supports their long-term career goals

Payments are made in a single transfer at the end of August or beginning of September and are deposited directly into the trainee’s bank account, preferably a Swedish account.
While financial support is provided, participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation during the traineeship period. Early planning is strongly encouraged.
