About the YoLe Fellowship Programme

The YoLe Fellowship Programme, initiated in 2018 by UNFPA Ghana, is a one-year leadership development programme aimed at nurturing transformational young leaders. It aligns with the global mission of ensuring that every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person’s potential is fulfilled.

The programme is delivered in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment Ghana and key partners such as the University of Ghana and the United Nations Volunteers Programme.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the YoLe Fellowship 2026, applicants must:

  • Be a resident of Ghana
  • Hold a qualification from an accredited tertiary institution
  • Demonstrate strong leadership potential and interpersonal skills
  • Be proficient in English
  • Show commitment to development issues and Ghana’s 2030 Agenda

Applicants should also be actively involved in youth-led organisations, NGOs, community initiatives, or public sector projects aligned with UNFPA’s mission.

Application Requirements

Interested candidates must submit the following documents:

  • A motivation letter (maximum 500 words) outlining goals and expectations
  • A CV or resume
  • Proof of identity (Ghana Card, passport, or birth certificate)
  • Evidence of health insurance

All applications must be submitted online before 14 May 2026 at 11:59 PM. Late submissions will not be considered.

Important Programme Details

The fellowship runs from September 2026 to August 2027 and requires full-time commitment. Fellows will be based at the UNFPA Ghana Country Office and the University of Ghana Digital Youth Village in Legon, Accra.

Applicants should note:

  • There is no accommodation provided
  • Participation is required Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend activities
  • Completion of at least 10 months is mandatory to receive certification
  • All academic requirements must be fulfilled to earn the Master’s degree

Additionally, UNFPA maintains strict policies on ethics, including zero tolerance for harassment and misconduct.
