Narratives addressing urban environments, climate migration, public health, and how societies adapt to environmental changes.
4. Extreme Weather Adaptation
Coverage of how communities respond to hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and heatwaves.
Each proposal must clearly emphasize solutions, demonstrating how innovation or resilience is helping communities navigate climate realities.
Funding and Eligibility Requirements
Applicants can request funding of up to $100,000, although early-career storytellers (with five years or less of experience) are encouraged to apply for up to $20,000. Projects can span up to two years, allowing for in-depth storytelling and meaningful impact.
To be eligible, applicants should:
- Have strong ties to the communities they are documenting or demonstrate established partnerships with local organizations
- Provide a portfolio showcasing previous work
- Submit a well-structured proposal with a clear plan for measuring impact
Importantly, storytelling must be ethical, collaborative, and grounded in authentic community perspectives.
