The Kofi Annan NextGen Democracy Prize 2026 is a global initiative designed to recognise and support young leaders who are actively advancing democratic values. Established in 2023 by the Kofi Annan Foundation and the Democracy and Culture Foundation, the prize honours individuals aged 18 to 30 who demonstrate exceptional leadership in defending and promoting democracy.

Presented annually at the Athens Democracy Forum, the award highlights the critical role of youth in shaping inclusive, participatory, and resilient democratic systems. Applications for the 2026 edition opened on 15 April 2026, with a submission deadline of 17 May 2026.
