About the Role at The Elders
The Programme Officer will play a central role in coordinating and advancing The Elders’ cross-cutting commitments, which include:

Working closely with programme leads and the communications team, the selected candidate will help ensure that these priorities are effectively integrated into the organization’s global advocacy and policy outputs.
Key Responsibilities
This role blends policy leadership, coordination, and programme support, making it both strategic and operational.
Policy Coordination and Leadership
- Lead integration of cross-cutting themes across programmes
- Draft policy papers, reports, and briefing materials
- Monitor and report on decisions and progress related to key commitments
Research and Analysis
- Conduct horizon-scanning and policy research
- Provide actionable insights to inform strategy and decision-making
Programme Support
- Assist in planning, reporting, and coordination of activities
- Prepare briefing documents for high-level meetings and visits
Partnership Development
- Build and manage relationships with institutions such as Chatham House
- Identify collaboration opportunities to advance policy goals
Communications Support
- Work with communications teams to amplify messaging
- Contribute to speeches, op-eds, and public-facing materials
Ideal Candidate Profile
This opportunity is best suited for professionals with 3–7 years of relevant experience in international organizations, NGOs, government, or think tanks.

- Strong academic grounding in international relations, politics, or development studies
- Proven experience in policy analysis and writing

Salary and Benefits
