Students pursuing careers in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) now have an opportunity to secure financial support through the SITA Bursary Scheme for the 2026 academic year.

A total of 20 bursaries will be awarded to qualifying candidates enrolled at recognized public tertiary institutions.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the SITA bursary, applicants must meet all the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be registered for second year (Year 2) of study in 2026
- Be enrolled at a recognized public tertiary institution in South Africa
- Have achieved a minimum average of 65% in first-year results
- Not be receiving another bursary (no dual funding allowed)
Priority Consideration
Preference will be given to:
- Students living with disabilities
- Applicants from designated demographic groups, in line with SITA’s Employment Equity Plan
Eligible Fields of Study
The bursary supports students enrolled in key ICT-related qualifications, including:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Informatics (Artificial Intelligence specialization)
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
- Bachelor of Science in Data Science
- Diploma in ICT (Application Development)
- Diploma in ICT (Communication Networks)
- Bachelor of Science with a major in Cybersecurity
These programmes are aligned with high-demand skills areas within the technology sector.

Applicants must submit a complete application supported by the following certified documents:
- South African ID document
- Matric results certificate
- Proof of registration
- Official acceptance letter from a public tertiary institution
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Academic transcript (first-year results)
Incomplete applications or missing documentation may result in disqualification.
