Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Suisse is seeking a Cell 4 Intern in Geneva to support its humanitarian operations. This internship provides operational and administrative assistance to the Cell Team and offers the opportunity to work on a Medico-Operational dossier over the internship period.
Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Duration: 6 to 9 months, full-time (40h/week)
Remuneration: 2,000 CHF per month
Internship Overview
The Cell 4 Intern plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operational processes while contributing to MSF’s mission of providing medical care in humanitarian contexts. This position is part of an academic or professional training program, compliant with the Employment Market Supervisory Council (CSME).

Mission Context
MSF is an independent international organization delivering medical care to those affected by disasters, armed conflict, and other crises, without discrimination. The Cell 4 Intern will assist with:
- Operational coordination and administrative support
- Human Resources tasks for international staff
- Development of a Medico-Operational dossier aligned with both operational needs and academic requirements
Responsibilities
The role is divided into three main areas: Operational Support (40%), HR & Administrative Support (40%), and Medico-Operational Dossiers (20%).
Operational Support
- Organize and document meetings, including agendas, minutes, and archiving
- Manage information systems and online platforms (Kompas, SharePoint)
- Prepare operational documents and presentations for internal and external use
- Support logistics (material dispatch, maps) and finance processes (contracts, audits, Power of Attorney)
- Provide ad-hoc assistance to the Directorate of Operations and monitor news updates for mission contexts
- Prepare operational updates for Headquarters (Point Info) as delegated
HR and Administrative Support
- Maintain international staff tracking and monitor documentation requirements
- Organize briefings and debriefings for incoming and departing staff
- Consolidate pre-departure materials and support staff integration in operations
- Monitor and file job descriptions and mission positions weekly
- Develop HR statistics and assist with administrative follow-ups
Medico-Operational Dossiers
- Interns develop one Medico-Operational dossier during the internship
- The dossier must address operational needs, academic requirements, and potential future career relevance
- Topic selection occurs in the first month and requires approval from the Responsible Person (RP)
- Deliverables may include reports, thesis work, or other formal outputs
Candidate Profile
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Have a tripartite internship agreement
- Fluent in English and French (written and spoken)
- Enrolled in a Master’s program in Social Sciences, Political Science, Humanitarian or Development Studies, or related field
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
- Excellent written communication and knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Team player with ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders
- Autonomous, proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented
Terms of Employment
- Duration: 6 to 9 months (full-time)
- Location: Geneva, Switzerland
- Start Date: 18 May 2026 (ideal)
- Gross Salary: 2,000 CHF/month
- A tripartite internship agreement is mandatory
