UNICEF (PFP) Consultancy Opportunities in Strategic Initiatives for Entertainment and Sports
UNICEF’s Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) is recruiting two home-based, twelve-month consultants to strengthen its engagement with the sport, music, arts, and gaming sectors.
Both consultancies operate remotely under the PFP Geneva framework and support UNICEF’s long-term strategy to increase unrestricted fundraising and enhance its presence within global cultural industries. The deadline for both roles is 21 November 2025 at 11:55 PM.
Purpose of the Consultancies
Both assignments are part of UNICEF’s broader effort to expand influence, visibility, and philanthropic reach by collaborating with industries capable of shaping public perception and inspiring large-scale giving.
The positions help bridge UNICEF’s fundraising, marketing, and partnership objectives with the commercial and cultural power of global entertainment and sport.
Consultancy 1: Strategic Initiatives – Sports
This consultancy aims to strengthen UNICEF’s engagement with the sport sector, an industry with significant potential for public mobilisation, brand visibility, and philanthropic growth. The consultant will support UNICEF’s efforts to build strategic partnerships with sport organisations, athletes, leagues, clubs, and sport-related brands.
Key responsibilities include
- Analysing the sport landscape to identify collaboration opportunities
- Mapping potential partners and assessing alignment with UNICEF’s mission
- Developing partnership concepts for athlete-driven advocacy or corporate sponsorship
- Supporting the design of communication and marketing strategies connected to sport campaigns
- Advising on how to convert sport-related visibility into individual giving and philanthropic contributions
- Contributing to long-term planning for UNICEF’s sport engagement portfolio
- This role is designed for a professional with strong knowledge of the sport industry, partnership-building experience, and the ability to translate cultural influence into strategic fundraising outcomes.
Consultancy 2: Strategic Initiatives and Events – Music, Arts, and Gaming
The second consultancy supports UNICEF’s engagement with the broader entertainment sector, including music, arts, and gaming. These industries have deep influence over youth culture, global digital communities, and public engagement trends, offering powerful platforms for fundraising and messaging.
Core responsibilities include
- Researching emerging opportunities across music, arts, and gaming
- Identifying artists, organisations, and platforms that align with UNICEF’s goals
- Producing strategies for entertainment-based philanthropic partnerships
- Supporting the conceptualisation of creative events and digital activations
- Advising on celebrity engagement and cultural-influencer collaborations
- Contributing to integrated marketing efforts across PFP
- The consultant will help UNICEF understand cultural trends, tap into entertainment audiences, and design high-impact campaigns that reinforce the organisation’s mission. This role suits candidates with experience in entertainment partnerships, cultural marketing, or creative industry engagement.
Shared Strategic Objectives
Although each consultancy focuses on a different sector, both roles advance UNICEF’s overarching goals. These include
- Enhancing UNICEF’s visibility in influential cultural ecosystems
- Building long-term strategic relationships with corporations, creators, and sport or entertainment organisations
- Increasing unrestricted fundraising through corporate channels, individual giving, and philanthropy
- Integrating industry-specific insights into UNICEF’s marketing and fundraising strategies
- Identifying new paths for innovation within high-impact global sectors
- Supporting internal teams with actionable recommendations and strategic analysis
- Together, the consultancies contribute to the development of a unified entertainment and sport engagement strategy that strengthens UNICEF’s brand position and fundraising capacity.
Core Competencies Expected Across Both Roles
Both consultants will be expected to
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills to assess partnership potential
- Develop roadmaps and concepts that respond to industry trends
- Provide input into marketing, advocacy, and fundraising initiatives
- Offer insights on how audiences interact with sport or entertainment content
- Identify corporate and philanthropic collaboration opportunities
- Support the design of high-visibility activations and partnership campaigns
- Work autonomously while coordinating with internal UNICEF teams across philanthropy, corporate partnerships, individual giving, and communications
- These skills ensure that both consultants effectively bridge creative industries with UNICEF’s fundraising priorities.
Location and Contract Structure. While both positions are listed under Switzerland because they fall within the PFP Geneva structure, the work is fully remote. Each consultancy lasts twelve months, enabling sustained relationship-building and strategic development.
Application Deadline. Candidates must submit their applications by 21 November 2025 at 11:55 PM. UNICEF encourages applicants with expertise in sports partnerships, entertainment industry engagement, digital culture, philanthropy, brand strategy, or cultural event development to apply.
Call for Action
These consultancy roles offer an opportunity for experienced professionals to support UNICEF’s mission by shaping innovative partnerships across sport, music, arts, and gaming.
Through strategic engagement with globally influential industries, both consultants will contribute to expanding UNICEF’s fundraising capacity and strengthening its position within cultural sectors that drive awareness, mobilisation, and long-term support for children worldwide.
