The Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF), established in 2005 as a Euro-Mediterranean intergovernmental organization headquartered in Alexandria, Egypt, invites applications for the position of Communication Officer for the Mediterranean Youth in Action (MYA) programme. Inspired by Anna Lindh’s legacy, the Foundation is dedicated to fostering intercultural dialogue, promoting inclusive societies, and valuing diverse perspectives. ALF’s work emphasizes peace, justice, and collaboration, uniting individuals and institutions across the Euro-Mediterranean region to drive meaningful social change.
ALF mobilizes a network of over 4,500 members through its National Civil Society Networks and engages the 43 States represented in its Board of Governors. The Foundation’s programmes and initiatives facilitate dialogue, learning, and collaboration to empower communities and amplify positive societal impact.

Position Details
The Communication Officer role is based in Alexandria, Egypt, with regional travel required. The annual gross remuneration may reach €30,000, complemented by a one-time relocation allowance of €3,000 for international staff. ALF provides comprehensive insurance coverage, including medical, life, and accidental death protection. Contract types vary by nationality and include local or international service contracts, with taxation applied according to local regulations. The anticipated start date is 16 November 2025, with contracts lasting until 31 December 2026 and potential extensions subject to funding and performance.
Programme Vision
The MYA programme promotes youth political participation, intergenerational dialogue, and active citizenship across the Mediterranean. It empowers young people as agents of positive change and responsible leadership. MYA emphasizes three strategic goals: enhancing youth engagement in public policy, implementing transformative participatory initiatives, and strengthening leadership in decision-making within the Euro-Mediterranean context. Structured around six thematic work packages, the programme employs innovative methodologies to maximize impact.
Role Overview
Reporting to the MYA Programme Leader and the ALF Corporate Communication Manager, the Communication Officer will execute the MYA Communication Strategy, oversee engagement with young influencers, and implement national and regional social media campaigns. The role includes developing work plans, managing budgets, preparing narrative and financial reports, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and supporting operational and communication processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor the MYA Communication Strategy, ensuring timely delivery of activities and outputs.
- Develop strategies to enhance programme visibility, identify media opportunities, and foster partnerships.
- Lead social media campaigns targeting youth audiences and regional stakeholders.
- Shape media narratives and expand civil society outreach.
- Produce engaging content across communication channels.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, official documentation, and support tools.
- Coordinate with internal teams and liaise with external service providers.
- Undertake additional duties as required.
Requisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum seven years of professional experience in communications, content creation, and social media management.
- Demonstrated experience in youth-led initiatives, NGOs, or international organisations.
- Proven ability to engage diverse audiences and build strategic partnerships.
- Excellent written and oral English skills; proficiency in French and Arabic is an asset.
- Established media and influencer networks in the Euro-Mediterranean region are desirable.
