The Coca-Cola Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Indirect Tax to join its Global Indirect Tax Center of Excellence (ITX COE), based in Nairobi, Kenya. This leadership role is central to overseeing indirect tax compliance and operations across the Eurasia, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
Reporting directly to the Regional Indirect Tax Director, the Senior Manager will be responsible for directing sub-regional operations, maintaining compliance with local and international tax laws, managing risk, and optimizing tax-related processes. This role forms a vital link between corporate tax strategy and regional execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Regional Tax Operations: Oversee the sub-regional ITX COE to ensure effective indirect tax processes, regulatory compliance, technology integration, and vendor management.
- Leadership & Team Oversight: Manage a team of Indirect Tax Consultants, ensuring timely and accurate tax filings and reporting obligations across the EMEA region.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with core finance functions such as Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (OTC), and Intercompany to ensure proper indirect tax postings in ERP systems, specifically SAP.
- Policy Alignment: Ensure tax processes align with corporate goals while adapting to regional regulatory developments such as digital tax compliance and e-invoicing initiatives.
- Governance & Risk Management: Enforce internal tax policies, manage indirect tax risks, and lead responses to audits and tax authority inquiries.
- Reporting & Analytics: Develop and track KPIs/metrics related to indirect tax. Collaborate with tax technology teams to improve automation, data analytics, and reporting efficiency.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key liaison between local market tax teams and global COE leadership, supporting change management, compliance updates, and strategic initiatives.
Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Tax Law
- Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in indirect tax compliance within a multinational company
- Strong technical knowledge of regional indirect tax regulations in EMEA
- Experience with SAP ERP systems and exposure to e-invoicing regulations
- Professional tax certification (e.g., CTA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred
