The International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) invites applications for its 2026 Youth Fellowship Programme, a transformative, year-long initiative designed to build the next generation of climate leaders in Bangladesh.

This fellowship empowers young individuals to engage deeply in the climate discourse, co-develop solutions for climate resilience, and influence policy and practice at the local, national, and global levels.

Youth are at the forefront of climate advocacy, offering innovation, energy, and leadership. The ICCCAD Youth Fellowship seeks to harness this potential, particularly among those from climate-vulnerable communities, through hands-on learning, mentorship, and impactful engagement.

The fellowship provides a structured environment for skill-building, critical thinking, and applied action—equipping fellows to become effective changemakers in climate and development fields.

Who Should Apply

ICCCAD encourages applicants from all backgrounds, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, ability, or identity.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a citizen of Bangladesh
  • Aged 18 to 30 years
  • Undergraduate student or recent graduate
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in climate change issues
  • Analytical, writing, and public speaking skills
  • Proven or emerging leadership qualities
  • Open to learning, travel, and idea exchange
  • Prior experience in climate-related work is an asset but not mandatory

Programme Benefits

Fellows will participate in a variety of experiential learning activities, including:

  • Residential workshops and field visits to climate-impacted areas
  • Online classes on climate change and sustainable development
  • Opportunities to attend national and international conferences
  • Mentorship from climate experts
  • Small funding opportunities for implementing climate solutions
  • Engagement with policymakers on local climate challenges
  • Opportunities to serve as future trainers in ICCCAD youth initiatives

Commitment & Requirements

  • Tenure: 12 months
  • Attendance: Minimum 80% participation in online classes, plus full attendance at the residential workshop and field visit
  • Reporting: Monthly updates documenting engagement, learnings, and impact
  • Certification: Provided upon successful completion of all fellowship components

This programme is non-renewable and does not imply future employment with ICCCAD.

Selection Process

  • Step 1: Submit an online application by 30 August 2025
  • Step 2: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview
  • Step 3: Final selection by the ICCCAD committee

Fellows will be chosen based on merit, motivation, and potential to lead impactful climate action in their communities.
