Opportunity Overview
An exciting opportunity has become available for ten unemployed individuals seeking to build a professional career in the insurance sector. Based in Sandton, Gauteng, this learnership programme is a structured work-based learning initiative funded by the Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority (INSETA). The programme offers a pathway to a nationally recognised qualification – the Further Education and Training Certificate in Short-Term Insurance at NQF Level 4.
This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to skills development, employment equity, and inclusion, particularly for young South African citizens and individuals living with disabilities. This marks the second time the company has successfully secured a Discretionary Grant (DG) from INSETA for unemployed learnerships in under 12 months, demonstrating its proactive role in workforce transformation and education.
Programme Structure
The learnership combines theoretical classroom-based training with practical work experience in a dynamic corporate environment. Participants will gain hands-on exposure to real business operations while acquiring technical knowledge in short-term insurance. Upon successful completion, learners will hold a recognised qualification that enhances their employability and positions them for growth in the insurance industry or similar sectors.
Target Candidates
The learnership programme is designed for unemployed South African youth aged between 18 and 35 years. A total of 10 spots are available—five of which are allocated to able-bodied individuals and five reserved for individuals living with disabilities.
Candidates with previous work experience, particularly in a call centre, contact centre, or sales environment, are encouraged to apply, although prior experience is not mandatory. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate a passion for service, sales, or insurance-related fields.
This programme is exclusively open to candidates not currently enrolled in any other INSETA-funded programmes, except for those initiated directly by INSETA to enhance learner employability. Applicants who previously exited any INSETA-funded programme prior to completion will not be eligible unless special consideration has been granted by the employer, subject to INSETA’s approval.

To be considered for this learnership opportunity, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be a South African citizen between the ages of 18 and 35
- Be currently unemployed
