US Board Member

Location: Remote (United States)
Role Type: Volunteer Trustee

Restless Development USA is seeking a dedicated and visionary individual to join its Board of Trustees. The Board plays a vital governance role in shaping the strategic direction and impact of our US operations. This is a voluntary position for someone with a strong belief in youth-led development, experience in leadership or nonprofit governance, and a commitment to the values of equity and justice.

The successful candidate will contribute to organizational oversight, fundraising efforts, and thought leadership, while supporting the growth of Restless Development’s presence and influence in the United States.

Storytelling Consultants

Department: Communications
Location: Remote
Role Type: Contractor

Restless Development is recruiting a pool of skilled Storytelling Consultants to help capture and communicate the powerful stories of young changemakers across our global programs. Consultants will work closely with communications and program teams to produce written, visual, or multimedia content that reflects our mission and impact.

We welcome applications from writers, journalists, videographers, digital storytellers, and creatives with experience in global development storytelling, especially those with lived experience in the regions we work.

Young Creatives (Video) – UK Social Media Campaign

Department: Communications
Location: Remote (UK-based preferred)
Role Type: Part-Time

Are you a young videographer or digital content creator with a passion for social change? We are looking for Young Creatives to co-create and produce compelling video content for an upcoming UK-based social media campaign. This role is ideal for emerging creatives aged 18–25 who want hands-on experience with professional campaigns centered on youth empowerment.

Selected individuals will work collaboratively with our UK communications team to shape narratives, develop scripts, and bring youth-led stories to life through video. Prior experience in filming, editing, or storytelling is highly valued.

Youth Advisory Board – SHE SOARS Program

Department: Programmes

Role Type: Voluntary

Restless Development is inviting applications for its Youth Advisory Board under the SHE SOARS program—a regional initiative focused on advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for adolescent girls and young women.

This voluntary position is open to young people (aged 18–28) passionate about gender equality, youth health, and community advocacy. Advisory Board Members will play a key role in ensuring that programming is inclusive, relevant, and informed by the lived experiences of young people in East and Southern Africa.

Programme Officer – Uganda

Department: Programmes & Advocacy
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Role Type: Fixed-Term Contract

The Programme Officer will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of youth-centered programs in Uganda, with a focus on advocacy, civic engagement, and gender equity. This is a fixed-term role, ideal for someone with 2–3 years of experience in the NGO sector, program implementation, or youth-led initiatives.

Key responsibilities include stakeholder engagement, monitoring and evaluation, logistical support, and partnership building. Applicants should be based in or willing to relocate to Kampala.
