The Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, is a network of young people united by a common desire to drive dialogue, action, and impact at the local, regional, and global levels. With hubs in cities around the world, Global Shapers are dedicated to addressing the most pressing challenges of our time through collaboration, innovation, and service.
The Kigali Hub is now accepting applications for its next cohort of Shapers. This is a unique opportunity for passionate, proactive young individuals to join a vibrant local community committed to shaping a better future for Kigali and beyond.
Who Should Apply?
The Kigali Hub welcomes applications from individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Aged between 18–27 years at the time of application
- Resident of Kigali or living in close physical proximity to the city
- Committed to making a positive difference in the community
- Eager to grow as a leader and support others in their personal and professional journeys
- Willing to engage actively with the hub and abide by the Global Shapers Community Charter

Application Process
The application involves several key steps, designed to help the selection committee better understand applicants’ motivations, leadership potential, and alignment with the values of the Global Shapers Community.
Required Information:
- Full name, email, phone number, and LinkedIn profile
- Written responses to the following prompts:
- Why do you want to become a member of the Kigali Global Shapers?
Share your motivations and what you hope to contribute and gain as a Shaper. - Highlight three of your proudest accomplishments (max 300 words):
Focus on achievements that reflect your leadership, initiative, or social impact. - Describe a time you took initiative to address a problem affecting others (max 200 words):
Detail the situation, what moved you to act, and the result of your involvement. - Video Submission (max 2 minutes):
Introduce yourself and speak from the heart. No editing or effects required. Address the following:- What is one issue in your community you are deeply passionate about?
- What project or initiative would you want to lead or support as a Shaper?
- Why is this issue personally important to you?
Upload your video to a platform of your choice (YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, etc.) and share the link in the application form.
Note: The Kigali Hub values authenticity. The video is not about perfection—it’s about passion, purpose, and potential.

All applications must be submitted by Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:59 PM (local time).
