Its multidisciplinary support teams encompassing Human Resources, Finance, IT, Security, Communications, Logistics, and Administration ensure the efficient delivery of programs and services. These departments play a vital role in enabling GRC to scale operations, support a growing workforce, and manage an expanding portfolio of projects and funding streams.

About the Role: Business Development Officer

GRC is currently seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Officer to join its dedicated Business Development Division. This role is instrumental in expanding GRC’s global reach, strengthening institutional partnerships, and identifying funding opportunities aligned with its strategic goals.

Location: Remote
Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension based on performance and budget availability)

Key Responsibilities

  • Opportunity Identification:
    Monitor and assess funding opportunities from major institutional donors, including USAID, DRL, EU bodies, MFA/NL, UKAid, SIDA, CIDA, and others. Identify philanthropic donors aligned with GRC’s mission.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Assist in establishing relationships with international and local partners in priority countries. Represent GRC at events, meetings, and forums to gather intelligence on donor priorities and emerging opportunities.
  • Proposal Development:
    Collaborate with Business Development and Division Leads to respond to solicitations. Support in developing technical and financial proposals, including drafting narratives, budgets, and annexes, ensuring compliance with donor standards.
  • Internal Coordination & Reporting:
    Maintain and update the BD Opportunities Tracker for timely communication and strategic alignment. Facilitate inter-divisional collaboration to enhance the quality and impact of proposal submissions.
  • Donor Relations:
    Maintain relationships with existing donors, assist in ongoing grant negotiations and extension applications, and ensure continued alignment with donor expectations.
  • Administrative and Strategic Support:
    Coordinate business development-related events such as meetings and workshops. Assist in the implementation of GRC’s broader business development strategies.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development, preferably in an INGO or international development context.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven ability to draft and support competitive proposal submissions.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to identify donor trends and opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, able to represent GRC in professional settings.
  • Adept at managing multiple tasks independently while also collaborating effectively with teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
