The Inter-American Dialogue, a leading hemispheric organization, is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Development and Partnerships Manager to advance its fundraising, partnership, and engagement efforts. For over four decades, the Dialogue has worked closely with governments, multilateral organizations, civil society, and the private sector to shape policy debates, devise innovative solutions, and foster collaboration to unlock meaningful change across the Americas. Its work spans critical areas such as democracy, migration, energy transition, security, education, and international relations, with particular attention to the region’s engagement with Asia.

Role Overview
The Development and Partnerships Manager will lead the implementation of a comprehensive, multi-year fundraising strategy to expand support from individuals, corporations, and foundations across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will work closely with the Dialogue’s president, senior leadership team, and key stakeholders to enhance revenue generation and advance the organization’s mission.
This position requires an innovative and proactive professional with a strong track record of building partnerships and securing funding. The Development and Partnerships Manager will be responsible for identifying opportunities for support, cultivating relationships with new and existing donors, and ensuring that all fundraising programs are aligned with the Dialogue’s strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of long-term and short-term fundraising strategies to expand the donor base and secure financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations, universities, and government agencies.
- Oversee the planning and execution of events and programming aimed at engaging existing donors and cultivating new supporters, including the annual Leadership for the Americas Awards Gala and President’s Leadership Council meetings.
- Manage the Dialogue’s Corporate Program and administer Latin America Advisor subscriptions.
- Prepare briefings, reports, and talking points for strategic donor and partnership meetings.
- Represent the Dialogue in meetings and events with donors, stakeholders, and external partners to explore opportunities for collaboration.
- Draft, review, and edit proposals for corporate and foundation support, ensuring compelling cases for funding.
- Coordinate with the finance team to ensure fundraising goals align with organizational budgets, revenue projections, and timelines.
- Maintain accountability and compliance standards for all donors and funding sources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree or professional certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in resource development or fundraising.
- Proven track record in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts across individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Experience organizing high-level donor meetings and large-scale fundraising events.
- Strong proposal writing skills and familiarity with fundraising analytics and donor management software.
- Demonstrated success in budget oversight and financial planning related to fundraising programs.
- Experience working with international or Latin American companies, executives, or policy-focused organizations is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English and Spanish required; Portuguese is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive, compelling cases for support.
- Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects, and work independently in a results-oriented environment.

Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a starting salary range of US$90,000–$110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
