Women for Women International (WfWI) is Now Recruiting: Fall 2025 Global Business Development Intern

Remote (U.S.-based candidates preferred) | Part-Time (20–25 hrs/week) | September 9 – December 9, 2025 | Stipend: $195/month

Women for Women International (WfWI) is seeking a highly motivated Global Business Development Intern for Fall 2025 to support its Global Programs Unit. This opportunity is ideal for undergraduate or graduate students with an interest in international development, gender justice, or non-profit management. The internship runs for three months, starting September 9 through December 9, and is fully remote with a modest stipend.

Since 1993, WfWI has supported over 550,000 marginalized women survivors of war and conflict in countries like Afghanistan, South Sudan, Nigeria, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and others. Through its Stronger Women, Stronger Nations program, the organization equips women with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to rebuild their lives, strengthen their families, and drive positive change in their communities.

Internship Overview

As part of the Global Business Development team, the intern will assist in researching prospective donors and funding opportunities, maintaining data systems, preparing cultivation materials, and supporting external engagement. The intern will work under the supervision of the Senior Manager for Global Government Partnerships and collaborate with other teams such as Marketing, Communications, and Development.

This position offers a unique opportunity to learn the inner workings of an international nonprofit focused on women’s empowerment in post-conflict regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct background research on potential donors, funding trends, peer NGOs, and strategic partnerships.
  • Assist with Salesforce CRM data entry and maintenance, helping the team keep records current and accurate.
  • Support preparation of business development materials, including one-pagers, overviews, and customized outreach content for potential partners.
  • Help schedule meetings, take detailed meeting minutes, and track follow-up actions.
  • Attend and report on external events, webinars, and partnership meetings, capturing key takeaways.
  • Compile partnership profiles and intelligence for use by WfWI country offices.
  • Aid in file organization, relationship management, and document version control.
  • Support event planning and logistics for cultivation or fundraising events, both virtual and in-person (if applicable).
  • Liaise with teams across the organization to ensure integration of partner communications.
  • Perform other administrative or research tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in International Development, Political Science, Gender Studies, Human Rights, or a related field.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce is an asset.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience working in an office or professional setting is preferred.
  • Interest in gender equality, post-conflict recovery, and the nonprofit sector.

Internship Logistics

  • Start Date: September 9, 2025
  • End Date: December 9, 2025
  • Time Commitment: 20–25 hours per week
  • Compensation: $195 monthly stipend for the 3-month term
  • Work Setting: Primarily remote. Occasional virtual or local in-person sessions may be arranged depending on location and interest.
