About Regen Organics by Sanergy

Regen Organics by Sanergy is a leading social venture headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. The organization operates one of East Africa’s largest organic waste recycling plants, utilizing a circular economy model to transform urban sanitation and organic waste into valuable products such as insect-based protein for animal feed, organic fertilizers, and biomass fuels.

Since launching operations in 2011, Regen Organics has processed tens of thousands of tonnes of residual organics each year. Its agricultural inputs have reached farmers across more than 40 counties in Kenya, contributing to improved crop yields, healthier soils, and increased farm income. The organization’s work also generates significant environmental benefits—offsetting thousands of tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

With ambitious growth plans, Regen Organics aims to scale its impact across Africa and Asia. Its long-term vision is to safely process one million tonnes of organic waste and offset over 500,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually within the next decade.

Recognized globally for innovation and social impact, Regen Organics has received accolades from the Gates Foundation, Fast Company (as one of the most innovative companies in the world doing social good), the Earthshot Prize (as a finalist), and the Food Planet Prize for its circular economy approach.

About the Role

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with county agriculture officers, local authorities, and community leaders.
  • Monitor all field activities, ensuring strict adherence to protocols and trial methodologies.
  • Oversee data collection efforts, including training enumerators, administering surveys, and performing quality checks.
  • Compile regular reports on progress, farmer feedback, and learning insights.
  • Resolve field-related challenges independently and escalate more complex issues to the project team.
  • Provide daily and weekly updates to project managers, contributing to adaptive learning and process improvement.

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ direct experience working with smallholder farmers in Kenya.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale agricultural field trials.

  • Excellent data collection, monitoring, and reporting skills.
  • Comfortable with digital tools including smartphones, tablets, and basic office software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Swahili.
  • Familiarity with regenerative agriculture practices or soil science is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated commitment to environmental sustainability and climate action.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be based in the region where operations will take place.
  • Must be able and willing to ride a motorbike to conduct field visits.
