About the Role

Google is hiring a Public Affairs Manager to join its Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team in India. This role is suited for an experienced public affairs professional with a strong grasp of India’s political and policy environment and a deep interest in technology and its impact on society.

As part of Google’s Asia-Pacific Public Affairs team, you will develop and implement high-impact initiatives that strengthen Google’s reputation, demonstrate its economic and social value, and engage key stakeholders across government, civil society, and industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic public affairs initiatives in India aligned with Google’s global and regional goals.
  • Plan and manage campaigns, events, and partnerships that highlight Google’s contributions to India’s digital ecosystem.
  • Represent Google in engagements with government agencies, think tanks, civil society organizations, and industry associations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in marketing, communications, and legal to ensure policy priorities are reflected in external messaging.
  • Analyze complex policy issues and translate them into actionable strategies and stakeholder engagements.
  • Maintain strong networks with policymakers, influencers, and thought leaders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in public policy, government relations, or political strategy.
  • Experience working in or with government, think tanks, advocacy organizations, or policy departments within corporations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of India’s political institutions, regulatory frameworks, and stakeholder ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-stakeholder initiatives and build consensus on sensitive issues.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working on digital economy, technology, or internet policy issues.
