- Bay Area/NYC: $80,000 – $85,000
- Other U.S. locations: $75,000 – $80,000

The Role: Program Associate, JEDI
ClimateWorks is seeking a Program Associate to support its Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) team in delivering high-impact initiatives across the organization. This two-year fixed-term role is designed for a mission-driven professional passionate about embedding justice and equity into climate philanthropy.
Reporting to the Director of JEDI and working closely with the Chief of Equity, Justice, and Culture, you’ll help launch and operationalize a range of initiatives that make ClimateWorks’ grantmaking, programs, and internal culture more inclusive and equitable.
Key Responsibilities
The Program Associate will:
- Coordinate cross-functional projects across teams to integrate JEDI principles into core operations and strategy.
- Support the planning, design, and execution of new equity-centered programs and processes.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making and strategic development.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Contribute to grantee identification and relationship-building, helping scope equity-aligned project opportunities.
- Support performance tracking and learning through data collection and reporting on JEDI-related key performance indicators.
- Create internal and external knowledge products, communications, and documentation.
- Coordinate logistics for in-person and virtual events, workshops, and team activities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
You are a self-starting, proactive, and highly organized professional with a strong grasp of the intersections between equity, justice, and climate action. You have a mix of research, communication, and project management experience and a collaborative approach to systems change.
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of relevant experience in project management or program coordination, preferably in non-profit, climate, or equity-related work.
- A demonstrated understanding of justice and equity issues in climate change.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
- High degree of initiative, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable working across remote and global teams, including occasional travel and cross-time-zone collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lived or professional experience in the Global South.
- Fluency in a second language, in addition to English.
- Prior work in climate, social justice, DEI, or philanthropy-focused organizations.

This is a fully remote position with a global applicant pool. ClimateWorks offers geographically adjusted compensation based on local labor markets, aiming to exceed local nonprofit salary averages.
