Call for Applications: Disability, Sexuality, and Rights Online Institute (DSROI) 2025

CREA is now accepting applications for its 12th Disability, Sexuality, and Rights Online Institute (DSROI)—a groundbreaking seven-week online course exploring the intersections of disability, gender, and sexuality, with a central focus on the lived experiences and activism of persons with disabilities in the Global South.
Since its launch in 2010, DSROI has brought together activists, academics, and practitioners to deepen collective understanding of cross-movement alliances across disability justice, feminist, and LGBTQIA+ rights. The 2025 cohort will continue this legacy by fostering dialogue, reflection, and collaboration across global rights movements.
Who Should Apply
This course is open to:
- Human rights activists
- Community organizers
- Donors and philanthropic practitioners
- Artists, media professionals, and practitioners working on:
- Disability justice
- Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR)
- Access to justice
- Gender-based violence
- LGBTQIA+ and feminist movements
Preference will be given to applicants from the Global South and those with demonstrated commitment to working at the intersection of disability, sexuality, and rights.
CREA strongly encourages applications from persons with disabilities and will provide full accessibility support for selected participants.
Accessibility Features
- Fully accessible online platform (screen reader compatible)
- Course materials in accessible formats
- Live sessions with CART (real-time captioning) and national Sign Language interpretation (upon request)
- Support from CREA staff throughout the course
Time Commitment
- Duration: 7 weeks
- Weekly commitment: 8–12 hours
- Structure: Online self-paced learning with live video sessions
Course Fee
- Registration Fee: USD $60
- Need-based waivers are available for a limited number of applicants (see application form for details)

- Alternative submissions via video or Sign Language on Zoom are also accepted
