The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven individual to fill the position of Manager, Management Accounting. This is a critical leadership role responsible for guiding the financial planning and analysis activities of the Authority to support sound decision-making and long-term sustainability.
The successful candidate will play a central role in formulating and managing the corporate budget, providing insights through financial analysis, and contributing to the strategic financial direction of the Authority.
Job Purpose
The Manager, Management Accounting will be accountable for coordinating, developing, and implementing the Authority’s corporate budget. The role includes performance monitoring, cost analysis, financial forecasting, and providing strategic recommendations to ensure optimal use of financial resources.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning, coordination, and compilation of the Authority’s consolidated corporate budget.
- Monitor budget implementation and prepare timely reports, including quarterly and annual performance analyses.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis and forecasting to inform strategic and operational decisions.
- Review financial data to identify trends, evaluate investment opportunities, and assess financial risks.
- Develop business plans and provide evidence-based recommendations aligned with the Authority’s strategic objectives.
- Perform detailed variance analysis and reporting to monitor business performance.
- Offer financial insights to senior management on corrective actions and risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor the Authority’s revenue streams and advise on potential enhancements or adjustments.
- Review and oversee corporate cash flow and investment planning.
- Develop, implement, and maintain management accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Evaluate costing transactions and advise on pricing models and cost optimisation strategies.
- Assess the financial viability of proposed projects and investments.
- Authorise and validate payment processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
- Full membership in good standing with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICPAK or equivalent).
- Completion of a recognised management course lasting at least four (4) weeks.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience, with at least three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Proven proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and a digitised working environment.
