Netflix, one of the world’s leading entertainment platforms, is currently recruiting for the position of Manager, Sustainability Standards & Partnerships (EMEA) to be based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This position is part of Netflix Sustainability, a strategic initiative focused on advancing climate action within content production and engaging global audiences around sustainability issues.

Role Summary

The Manager of Sustainability Standards & Partnerships (EMEA) will play a critical role in aligning sustainability-related regulatory frameworks, technologies, and collaborative partnerships with Netflix’s long-term environmental goals. The position reports to the Standards & Partnerships team within Netflix Sustainability and will support activities across the European Union and the United Kingdom.

The selected candidate will lead and support a wide range of efforts—from stakeholder engagement and policy analysis to convening partners and informing Netflix’s industry-wide sustainability efforts. This role demands a balance of strategic policy insight, technical understanding of sustainability challenges, and strong relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess legislative, regulatory, and industry standard developments relevant to climate and sustainability in the EMEA region.
  • Conduct and commission research to analyze the trade-offs, implications, and benefits of evolving sustainability proposals and requirements.
  • Identify and assess technological and market barriers to advancing sustainable practices within content production, distribution, and events.
  • Support partnerships with public officials, NGOs, industry suppliers, business peers, and scientific and technology communities.
  • Represent Netflix in multi-stakeholder collaborations, including coalitions, associations, and public forums.
  • Develop strategies and provide content for stakeholder-facing events, workshops, and industry convenings.
  • Leverage Netflix’s internal data, expertise, and assets to contribute to the design and execution of sustainability programs.
  • Offer rapid-response analysis and support on emerging issues, often under time-sensitive conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Public Policy, Economics, Sustainability Management, or a closely related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in sustainability—covering areas such as technology development, policy analysis, or climate action initiatives—within the public, private, or research sectors.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with European regulatory and legislative processes, including national and local frameworks.
  • Strong experience working across sectors—particularly with industry groups, public officials, regulatory agencies, NGOs, or suppliers.
  • Proven success in leading multi-actor collaborations and fostering impactful partnerships.
  • A deep and nuanced understanding of the technical dimensions of sustainability, such as low-carbon technologies, regulatory standards, and climate governance.
  • Experience planning and delivering stakeholder events with diverse audiences, including the general public.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into concise, actionable insights.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity, learning quickly, adjusting strategies, and applying feedback.
  • A collaborative and inclusive mindset, with humility regarding one’s own knowledge gaps and the confidence to seek expert input as needed.
