AORTA Is Hiring: Two Full-Time Facilitators to Join the Team (Apply Before 20 July 2025)

The Anti-Oppression Resource and Training Alliance (AORTA) is currently accepting applications for two full-time Facilitator positions to begin in Fall or Winter 2025. These roles are central to the organization’s work of providing political education, process facilitation, and strategic support to justice-centered groups across the United States.
AORTA is a worker-owned cooperative currently made up of 7 Facilitators and 3 internal workers. This hiring round is an opportunity to join a team deeply committed to racial, gender, economic, environmental, and disability justice; queer and trans liberation; anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist principles; and transformative movement building. About the Facilitator Role
AORTA Facilitators are responsible for delivering a wide range of services to movement groups and justice-based organizations. These services include facilitation, consulting, coaching, and political education. The majority of facilitation occurs virtually, although some in-person work and travel may be involved depending on client needs and facilitator availability.
This is a remote position with flexible hours. New hires will have the opportunity to become worker-owners of the cooperative after one year of employment, allowing them to participate in AORTA’s democratic governance and shape future directions of the organization.
Facilitators are not only service providers, but also strategic thinkers, movement collaborators, and co-builders of AORTA’s theory of change and internal practices. This role is suited for individuals who are passionate about movement work and eager to co-create just processes and structures alongside clients and colleagues.
Eligibility and Hiring Details
AORTA is only accepting applications from individuals who are eligible to work in the United States and currently based within U.S. territories. Due to legal and logistical constraints, international applications cannot be considered at this time.

The compensation for this position is not negotiable. As part of AORTA’s commitment to equitable compensation, the organization uses a transparent salary structure developed and approved by its worker-owners. This structure is designed to support thriving wages while eliminating pay disparities based on negotiation or previous income history. Further details about the salary and benefits package will be shared during interview rounds. Once hired as a worker-owner, employees will have shared decision-making power over the compensation system.
Accessibility, Safety, and Support
For any in-person work, AORTA provides robust worker protections and support structures. Each facilitator is supported by the AORTA team and the HR Coordinator in identifying accommodations, travel preferences, and safety protocols. This could include arranging fragrance-free spaces, planning for childcare, building rest time into itineraries, or enacting COVID-19 mitigation measures. AORTA is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and accessible working environments for all facilitators and participants.
Confidentiality and Data Security
All applications will be accessible only to AORTA’s 10 worker-owners, who will be involved in the hiring process. No information will be shared externally, and references will only be contacted with prior consent from the candidate. Application data submitted via JazzHR remains the property of the applicant and AORTA; it is securely stored in AORTA’s protected accounts. Documents used in the hiring process are also stored in a secure, password-protected Dropbox system accessible only by current worker-owners.
