The Asian Environmental Youth Network (AEYN) is inviting applications for the position of Program Support Associate. About AEYN
Founded in 2020, AEYN is a youth-led, pan-Asian platform dedicated to climate advocacy, sustainability education, and regional collaboration. The network operates at the intersection of climate justice and community development, with a special focus on amplifying underrepresented voices in South and Southeast Asia. AEYN supports its members through mentorship programs, knowledge-sharing initiatives, digital advocacy campaigns, and curated opportunities in the climate space.
The Role
AEYN is currently seeking a Program Support Associate to join its volunteer-based team as a remote contractor. This part-time role requires a weekly commitment of 10 hours and offers flexible scheduling, making it a strong fit for students, early-career professionals, or freelance researchers seeking meaningful engagement in the climate and sustainability sector.
The selected candidate will work closely with core team members to support several key initiatives, including the development of AEYN’s mentorship program, the rollout of a regional climate initiatives map, and the creation of accessible climate-related content for social media. The position also involves community outreach and the maintenance of AEYN’s internal opportunities list.
Key Responsibilities
Mentorship Program Development
- Support outreach efforts by researching universities, climate organizations, and youth-led networks, with a particular focus on South and Southeast Asia.
- Draft compelling outreach copy and assist in collecting relevant contact information.
- Coordinate with team members to distribute outreach materials and manage follow-up communications.
Community Engagement and Content Development
- Contribute to the creation of digital content for social media platforms including Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Research timely and relevant climate topics aligned with AEYN’s editorial calendar.
- Draft clear, concise, and youth-friendly copy for social media posts.
- Collaborate with graphic designers to translate ideas into visually engaging assets.
- Assist in developing resources for mentees and members, including guides, toolkits, and event materials.
Opportunities List and Resource Curation
- Continuously research upcoming opportunities in the climate and sustainability fields that may benefit AEYN members. These include but are not limited to:
- Entry-level job postings
- Research fellowships
- Conferences and webinars
- Volunteer and internship roles
- Competitions and grants
Support for Regional Climate Initiatives Map
- Assist in the launch of AEYN’s new interactive map showcasing youth-led and community-based climate organizations across Asia.
- Identify and verify relevant organizations for inclusion in the database.
- Support data collection and categorization efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest in climate action, environmental education, and social equity, especially in the Asian context.
- Prior experience (paid or volunteer) with sustainability-focused or nonprofit organizations.
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to explain complex topics in a simple, relatable manner.
- Experience in event coordination, digital outreach, or online research is preferred.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Comfort with remote work environments and cross-cultural collaboration across time zones.
