STEM for Development (SFD), a global non-profit organization focused on improving access to quality STEM education in the Global South, invites applications for its Introduction to Statistics and Data Science course. This opportunity is designed for early-career scholars and emerging professionals who are eager to build foundational skills in statistics and data analysis.

Program Overview

The Introduction to Statistics & Data Science course is tailored to current undergraduate and Master’s students in STEM disciplines who have an interest in learning data interpretation, visualization, and statistical reasoning.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must:

  • Be a citizen of a country in the Global South
  • Be currently enrolled in or have recently completed an undergraduate or Master’s degree program
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in statistics or statistical applications
  • Be fluent in English and able to contribute to live discussions
  • Have reliable access to a laptop or desktop and a strong internet connection suitable for virtual meetings

Application Process

To complete the application, candidates must:

  1. Fill in the online application form

    • A 300-word Statement of Interest, explaining the applicant’s background, academic and career aspirations, and how the course aligns with their goals

“Introduction to Statistics and Data Science Application – [Your Full Name]”

Use of Generative AI Tools in Applications
