1. Communications Lead
Location: Remote | Preferred Residence: Tanzania, Kenya, or UK
Deadline: 20 July 2025
Role Summary
Lion Landscapes seeks a strategic and proactive Communications Lead to take ownership of both internal and external communications. The role includes oversight of messaging across platforms, line-management of the Digital Communications Assistant, and development of tools and systems for impactful storytelling and public engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement the organisation’s communications strategy
- Shape public narrative and deliver compelling content
- Act as a media spokesperson as needed
- Manage internal communications systems to ensure team coordination
- Oversee branding, digital content, media outreach, and impact reporting
Ideal Candidate
- Strong background in communications or media strategy
- Experience working with conservation or mission-driven organisations
- Excellent writing, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement skills
2. Senior Fundraising Lead
Location: Remote | Preferred Residence: Tanzania, Kenya, or UK
Deadline: 20 July 2025
Role Summary
The Senior Fundraising Lead is a strategic leadership position focused on growing and diversifying Lion Landscapes’ income streams. This includes developing high-value donor relationships, leading grant proposals, and building new funding partnerships aligned with conservation goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy
- Identify institutional, major donor, and innovative funding opportunities
- Ensure ethical fundraising standards and accurate donor reporting
- Represent the organisation to partners, networks, and funding bodies
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in high-level fundraising
- Strong understanding of donor trends in conservation or development sectors
- Strategic thinker with a proven track record of securing large-scale funding
3. Conservation Capacity Development Lead
Location: Primarily Iringa, Tanzania (Field-based), with travel to Rufiji and Pwani
Deadline: 5 July 2025
Role Summary
This position is dedicated to mentoring and coaching local conservation managers and field teams in Tanzania. The Conservation Capacity Development Lead is responsible for strengthening conservation delivery systems, monitoring effectiveness, and adapting community-based conservation programs over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Build local team capacity in conservation planning and field implementation
- Strengthen monitoring, evaluation, and adaptive management practices
- Lead trainings and provide mentorship for long-term skill development
- Coordinate with senior staff to ensure program alignment and impact
Ideal Candidate
- Extensive background in conservation leadership or community-based natural resource management
- Hands-on experience in capacity-building, preferably in East Africa
- Culturally aware, collaborative, and skilled in field-based operations
