As the organization continues to respond to dynamic global health trends, it is embarking on a strategic refresh to shape its direction for the next three years.

The Opportunity

CORE Group is seeking an experienced Strategy Consultant to lead the organization’s three-year strategic planning refresh process. The goal is to co-create a data-informed, impact-driven, and operationally sound strategic plan for 2025–2028. The consultant will guide the organization through a structured, inclusive, and iterative planning process that engages CORE Group’s leadership, staff, Board of Directors, members, and external stakeholders.

Working in close collaboration with the Executive Director, senior management, and a designated Board Strategy Task Team, the consultant will facilitate the development of an actionable plan that reflects CORE Group’s mission, responds to global health sector shifts, and positions the organization for growth and sustainability.

Scope of Work

The consultant will be responsible for the following:

  • Review and Analysis: Conduct an in-depth review of CORE Group’s prior strategic plans, consultation reports, and internal assessments to establish a clear baseline.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate virtual engagement sessions with key stakeholders—including staff, Board members, partners, and members—using tools such as interviews, focus groups, and surveys.
  • Workshop Facilitation: Plan and lead two strategic planning workshops with the Board and other key stakeholders to surface priorities, validate strategic directions, and ensure alignment.
  • Drafting and Revisions: Develop the full Strategic Plan (2025–2028), complete with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and an implementation roadmap. The consultant will incorporate feedback from CORE Group’s leadership and Board across two revision cycles.
  • Operationalization: Provide a high-level Year 1 operational plan to guide initial implementation efforts.
  • Final Presentation: Deliver a conclusive presentation to CORE Group’s Board of Directors and Executive Director summarizing the plan and its implementation strategy.

Key Deliverables

  • Strategic Assessment Report: A synthesis of internal and external inputs and findings.
  • Workshop Facilitation Documents: Agendas, tools, and summary reports from two planning sessions.
  • Draft and Final Strategic Plan: Including strategic goals, KPIs, and a three-year roadmap.
  • Draft Implementation Plan: A high-level framework for operationalizing the strategy in Year 1.
  • Final Presentation: Slide deck and live or recorded presentation to CORE Group leadership.

Consultant Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of 10 years of strategic planning experience, preferably within global health or international development organizations.
  • Demonstrated success working with Boards, executive teams, and multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Proven facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills in cross-cultural and global contexts.
  • Familiarity with current global health trends, funding landscapes, and programmatic innovation.
  • Strong writing, analysis, and synthesis capabilities, including the development of strategic frameworks.
  • Advanced degree in public health, international development, organizational strategy, or a related field.
