Objective

Connecting Research to Development (CRD) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Coordinator to lead and support the effective implementation of field-level research and development activities in Baouchrieh, Lebanon. The Field Coordinator will serve as a key operational liaison between the project team and the target communities. This role involves ensuring quality data collection, facilitating community engagement, providing logistical oversight, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

The Field Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring that the project meets its objectives efficiently and in alignment with the organization’s mission of applying research to practical development solutions.

Responsibilities

Program Implementation and Field Coordination

The Field Coordinator will oversee daily implementation of project activities in designated areas, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with the approved work plan, allocated budget, and established timelines. This includes coordinating and facilitating community-level activities such as outreach events, focus group discussions, training sessions, and workshops.

The role requires consistent monitoring of implementation progress and timely reporting of any challenges or delays to the Project Manager. The coordinator is responsible for ensuring all activities are aligned with monitoring and evaluation (M&E) standards and project milestones are achieved on time.

Building and maintaining trust-based relationships with community stakeholders, including local leaders, residents, and relevant authorities, is essential to the success of the role.

Capacity Building and Team Supervision

The Field Coordinator will design and deliver capacity-building sessions for field staff, volunteers, and community representatives. These sessions will ensure all personnel understand the project’s objectives and can implement tasks effectively.

The coordinator will provide operational guidance and real-time support to team members, resolving issues as they arise during implementation.

Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination

Establishing and sustaining partnerships with local NGOs, community-based organizations, government entities, and service providers is a core responsibility of this position. The Field Coordinator will ensure consistent communication and coordination among all actors involved in the project.

Regular reporting to the Project Manager is expected, including the preparation and submission of progress reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. The Field Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all field-level data and its timely integration into the project’s monitoring systems.

Logistics and Operational Support

The role involves coordinating all logistical arrangements required for field activities, such as transportation, booking venues, and preparing materials for training and community events. The Field Coordinator must ensure the efficient use and equitable distribution of project resources and supplies across target communities.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)

The Field Coordinator will lead data collection efforts in accordance with the project’s MEL framework. This includes ensuring that all information gathered is accurate, timely, and relevant. The Coordinator will support the documentation of field activities, capturing key learning moments, photos, testimonials, and success stories.

Additionally, the Coordinator will facilitate community feedback mechanisms and contribute to continuous learning and adaptive project implementation by incorporating feedback into future planning.

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in public health, social sciences, development studies, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a field coordination role, preferably in development or research contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience working with communities, local stakeholders, and partners in humanitarian or development settings.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, prioritize tasks, and multitask in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Familiarity with research ethics, data collection tools such as ODK or KoBoToolbox, and MEL frameworks is an asset.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required; knowledge of French is considered an added advantage.
