The Center for Inclusive Growth (CFIG)

The Center for Inclusive Growth (CFIG) serves as Mastercard’s hub for social impact, working to ensure the benefits of economic growth are broadly shared. By leveraging research, data science, programmatic investments, and strategic collaborations, CFIG drives inclusive and sustainable economic development globally.

The Director, Social Impact, Latin America & the Caribbean will be a key member of CFIG’s Americas team and the broader Global Programs team. Based in the North LAC region, the Director will lead a portfolio of social impact programs, grants, and partnerships across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Program Design & Partnership Development
The Director will lead the implementation of CFIG’s social impact strategy across Latin America and the Caribbean, with a strong emphasis on micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise growth, inclusive innovation, and financial health.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing existing programs, including Mastercard Strive in Mexico and Colombia.
  • Designing new initiatives aligned with Mastercard’s Impact Fund objectives.
  • Driving scale and replication of successful programs across the region.
  • Identifying and managing partnerships with government entities, multilateral banks, NGOs, and corporate philanthropies.
  • Ensuring all programs deliver measurable results and adhere to Mastercard’s governance standards.

Stakeholder Engagement & Internal Collaboration
The Director will work closely with Mastercard’s cross-functional teams, including Global Affairs, Market Development, Public Sector, and Communications, to ensure alignment of goals and activities.

The role will involve:

  • Advising internal business units on opportunities to align commercial and philanthropic strategies.
  • Facilitating workshops, convenings, and volunteer engagement with grantees and Mastercard employees.
  • Cultivating relationships with policymakers, funders, and key stakeholders to support strategic partnerships and regional program scale.

Thought Leadership & Communication Strategy
To position Mastercard as a leading voice in inclusive growth, the Director will:

  • Develop communication strategies that showcase Mastercard’s regional social impact work.
  • Represent the company at regional events, conferences, and forums.
  • Contribute to research publications, impact reports, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Promote thought leadership to catalyze partnerships and drive action on inclusive economic development.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong network across Latin America and the Caribbean, including thought leaders, government officials, multilaterals, and philanthropic organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in securing funding and developing partnerships with regional and international institutions.
  • A proven track record in grantmaking, corporate philanthropy, and program management within the Latin American context.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and a diverse program portfolio simultaneously.
  • Deep understanding of the intersection between business innovation and inclusive growth.
  • An advanced degree in business, international development, public policy, or a related field.
  • Experience working in public, nonprofit, or social sectors is highly preferred.
  • Full professional fluency in both Spanish and English.

Information Security Responsibilities

As part of Mastercard’s corporate security expectations, all employees must:

  • Adhere to security policies and best practices.
  • Protect the confidentiality and integrity of data.
  • Report suspected security incidents.
  • Complete required cybersecurity training on a regular basis.
