Launch Your Clean Energy Career with SolarCorps
A hands-on, community-powered fellowship creating a more equitable clean energy future.
What is SolarCorps?
GRID Alternatives’ SolarCorps Fellowship Program is a paid, 11-month, full-time fellowship that provides individuals with hands-on experience in the clean energy industry. The program is designed to create accessible career pathways for those traditionally underrepresented in the renewable energy sector. No prior experience is required, just a commitment to learning, community service, and building a just and sustainable future.
Fellows gain real-world skills while supporting communities most impacted by environmental and economic injustice. Since its launch, SolarCorps has supported more than 300 fellows and continues to grow a network of clean energy leaders grounded in equity, resilience, and impact.
What SolarCorps Offers:
- Paid Fellowship: Earn $40,800 over 11 months, plus an end-of-term award.
- Hands-On Experience: Accumulate over 1,700 hours of fieldwork, working on renewable energy installations and community-driven projects.
- Professional Mentorship: Be part of a supportive team and receive one-on-one guidance from experienced mentors in the field.
- Career Development: Participate in monthly workshops, a virtual orientation, a midyear retreat, networking opportunities, and receive $600 to invest in personal professional development.
- Industry-Recognized Certifications: Depending on your placement, you may have the opportunity to earn credentials such as First Aid, OSHA10, OSHA30, and NABCEP Associate Certification. While not all positions guarantee certification, the program supports career-aligned training.
- Strong Career Placement: 80% of fellows secure employment within two months after completing the program.
