About LEEP

LEEP is a nonprofit tackling childhood lead poisoning globally, focusing on eliminating lead paint and piloting other lead exposure interventions (e.g., spices, cosmetics). Founded in 2020, LEEP has programs in 31 countries and partners with WHO, UNEP, USAID, UNICEF, and others. LEEP’s work is highly cost-effective in preventing lead exposure and improving global health.

Role Summary

You will strengthen LEEP’s stakeholder engagement and program delivery across Africa by managing relationships with governments, regional bodies, and international organizations. This includes coordinating events, managing subgrantees, and supporting program implementation aligned with LEEP’s goals.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement & Government Relations

  • Build/manage relationships with bodies like UNEP, WHO, ARSO, ECOWAS
  • Represent LEEP at regional/international meetings
  • Engage with government stakeholders in paint programs
  • Conduct analyses to identify relevant stakeholders
  • Draft formal correspondence to officials/agencies

Project Implementation

  • Organize regional workshops: logistics, content, follow-ups
  • Support partners in data collection, reporting, subgrantee management
  • Ensure project alignment with strategic goals

Event & Travel Coordination

  • Plan side events at international forums
  • Coordinate travel for meetings and visits

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Support documentation, reporting, and various tasks across teams

Qualifications & Skills

  • Passion for LEEP’s mission and scalable impact
  • Strong interpersonal, diplomatic, and communication skills
  • Proven stakeholder engagement, project management, and event coordination experience (especially with governments, NGOs, multilateral agencies)
  • Experience managing multi-country programs
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Familiarity working with African governments or regional bodies
  • Ability to work remotely and willingness to travel (~8–12 weeks/year)

Additional Assets:

  • Proficiency in French or other languages
  • Experience living/working in low- or middle-income countries, especially in Anglophone Africa
