About relAI
relAI, hosted by the Zuse School of Excellence in Responsible AI, is a distinguished academic initiative focused on the development and deployment of ethical, responsible, and explainable artificial intelligence. We bring together leading researchers from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), two of Germany’s top universities. Our goal is to train the next generation of AI professionals to apply innovative and socially responsible AI methods in a wide range of disciplines, from computer science and engineering to the natural sciences.
Participants in the relAI MSc program benefit from interdisciplinary coursework, expert supervision, networking opportunities with leading researchers, and exposure to real-world AI challenges with a focus on societal impact.

Accepted degree programs typically include computer science, mathematics, engineering, physics, natural sciences, and other fields closely related to data science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence. - Parallel Applications Required:
Please note that the relAI program is a supplementary research and training opportunity. As such, applicants must also apply directly to a suitable MSc program at TUM or LMU. relAI applicants who are not enrolled in one of these programs cannot be accepted. Make sure to check the respective university websites for their Master’s application deadlines, many of which are typically in late May. - Program Start Dates:
