Embassy of Japan in Nigeria Call for Applications: Fiscal Year 2025 Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP)

The Embassy of Japan in Nigeria is pleased to announce the Call for Applications for the Fiscal Year 2025 Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP). This grant is part of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) program of the Government of Japan and is dedicated to supporting community-level initiatives that directly improve the lives and welfare of people at the grassroots.

1. About the GGP Programme

Since its establishment in 1989, the Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP) has provided critical support to a wide range of community-based projects worldwide. The GGP focuses on addressing fundamental human needs, especially in underserved and vulnerable communities.

In Nigeria, GGP has funded projects across various sectors including:

  • Primary healthcare
  • Basic education
  • Vocational training
  • Access to clean water
  • Empowerment of marginalized groups
  • Other initiatives contributing to human security and community welfare

2. Grant Amount

Each grant under the GGP programme is valued up to approximately 10 million Japanese Yen (subject to currency conversion rates).

3. How to Apply

Interested organisations are invited to participate by downloading and thoroughly reviewing the following documents:

4. Application Deadline

All completed application forms, accompanied by the required supporting documents, must be submitted via email by 23:59 on Friday, 13th June 2025, to:
