Meta is hiring a Program Manager III to lead open-source AI impact initiatives across 3 Regions (Africa, APAC, and the Middle East).

Meta is seeking a Program Manager III to join its AI and Data for Good team, focusing on leveraging open-source AI models to drive social impact across the Asia Pacific (APAC), Africa, and Middle East (AMET) regions. This 11-month contract role offers an opportunity to work remotely, supporting initiatives that promote scientific innovation and economic opportunity through open-source AI.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Regional Partnership Development: Collaborate with Meta’s regional teams to strengthen partnerships with government agencies and research institutions, focusing on the deployment and utilization of open-source AI models such as Llama, Segment Anything, and DINOv2.
  2. Training and Capacity Building: Deliver training sessions on AI and Data for Good tools to government agencies, facilitating their access to Meta’s open-source models and datasets. Additionally, partner with crisis response networks to host workshops on novel data and AI applications.
  3. Crisis Response Support: Assist in generating crisis dataset collections for over 100 large-scale disasters annually. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure the timely delivery of insights and collaborate with regional policy teams to inform disaster response efforts.
  4. Impact Documentation: Track and document the impact of AI for Good initiatives through case studies and lightning talks, highlighting the use of Meta’s tools in addressing social issues.
  5. Partner Onboarding: Manage the onboarding process for new AI & Data for Good partners to controlled access datasets, including overseeing approval workflows, liaising with legal teams, and ensuring partners have the necessary tools and access.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: A minimum of five years of professional experience, with a background in AI, public policy, or a related discipline. A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong project management experience, technical acumen, and the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills and experience in stakeholder management are essential.
  • Preferred Experience: Familiarity with the Global South context, quantitative analysis, and experience in ethnography, econometrics, or qualitative research methodologies.

Compensation

The estimated total pay range for this position is between $175,000 and $245,000 per year, which includes base salary and additional pay. The average base salary for a Program Manager III at Meta is approximately $154,000 per year, with additional pay averaging around $51,000 per year, which may include cash bonuses, stock options, or other forms of compensation.
