The 2025 Rosa Rise Fund: Empowering Racially Minoritised Women’s and Girls’ Organisations Across the UK

About

Applications for the 2025 Rosa Rise Fund are now open, offering vital organisational development support to Black and racially minoritised-led women’s and girls’ organisations across the United Kingdom. This initiative aims to strengthen the infrastructure of smaller grassroots groups working at the heart of communities, often underfunded yet playing an essential role in advancing gender and racial equity.

About the Rosa Rise Fund

Rosa, the UK fund for women and girls, created the Rise Fund to address systemic funding gaps that disproportionately affect racially minoritised women-led organisations. These groups often deliver essential services in the face of intersecting challenges such as racism, sexism, economic inequality, and social exclusion. Yet, they face ongoing barriers to accessing sustained, flexible funding that supports their long-term development and resilience.

The Rise Fund responds directly to this need by providing grants that are not only financial but also developmental, helping organisations grow stronger from the inside out.

Funding Available

The 2025 Rosa Rise Fund offers two-year grants of up to £40,000, distributed to eligible organisations with an annual income between £30,000 and £300,000. This funding is specifically designed to support organisational development – strengthening the core of an organisation to help it become more sustainable, resilient, and impactful.

The Rise Fund does not focus on project delivery but rather invests in how organisations operate, grow, and lead. Whether it’s strengthening governance structures, refining strategy, improving impact measurement, or building long-term partnerships, the fund is about enabling organisations to lead transformational change for the communities they serve.

What the Fund Will Support

Grants from the Rosa Rise Fund can be used for a range of organisational development activities, including but not limited to:

  • Strategic planning and development
  • Improving governance structures and practices
  • Leadership development for staff and board members
  • Developing partnerships, alliances, and networks
  • Building financial resilience and diversifying income
  • Strengthening monitoring, evaluation, and impact frameworks
  • Improving internal systems, policies, and operational processes

This approach enables organisations to take a step back from day-to-day delivery and invest in the changes needed to grow stronger, more adaptable, and better positioned to secure future funding and influence systemic change.
