Drive Impact! Work Remotely as an Audience Acquisition Consultant at NetHope (20 hours per week)

NetHope is a leading global nonprofit consortium dedicated to harnessing technology to improve humanitarian outcomes worldwide. With a network of member organizations and partners spanning continents, NetHope designs and delivers initiatives that empower nonprofits with innovative digital tools and capacity-building programs.

Currently, NetHope is launching two key initiatives in 2025 aimed at expanding nonprofit digital capabilities:

  • Phase 1: AI Skilling Course (June to August 2025) — A comprehensive online course designed to equip nonprofit professionals worldwide with a solid understanding of artificial intelligence and its practical implications in the humanitarian sector. This phase targets 300 participants, with ongoing enrollment opportunities throughout the year.
  • Phase 2: Localization Campaign (September to October 2025) — A strategic digital outreach campaign focused on engaging local, national, and regional organizations to access and benefit from NetHope’s digital services.

Role Summary: Audience Acquisition Consultant

NetHope seeks a proactive and experienced Audience Acquisition Consultant to lead outreach and recruitment efforts for these two initiatives. This role is distinctively focused on targeted participant engagement, leveraging digital and direct outreach strategies to ensure strong enrollment and participation rates.

The consultant will work remotely and report directly to the Director of Communications, collaborating closely with senior program leaders, membership engagement staff, and community managers to execute a cohesive recruitment plan aligned with broader program goals.

Key Responsibilities

Audience Acquisition Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement customized audience acquisition strategies for both the AI Skilling Course and Localization Campaign, setting clear weekly recruitment targets.
  • Map and prioritize nonprofit audiences through internal data and external network analysis, focusing on nonprofits with the highest engagement potential.
  • Design and manage targeted digital outreach campaigns across relevant platforms such as LinkedIn, TechSoup, ICTWorks, and other nonprofit forums.
  • Tailor messaging to distinct audience segments, clearly articulating the benefits and relevance of participation.
  • Conduct direct outreach via email, social media, and messaging channels to meet sign-up goals.

Campaign Monitoring & Optimization

  • Track recruitment performance and engagement using analytics tools and dashboards.
  • Continuously refine outreach tactics based on real-time data and feedback to optimize sign-up rates.
  • Provide weekly progress updates highlighting outreach outcomes and trends.

Platform and Community Coordination

  • Coordinate outreach efforts with program and membership teams to align recruitment with platform updates, content releases, and announcements.
  • Partner with the Community Manager to ensure seamless onboarding and engagement of new participants after recruitment.

Content Utilization and Feedback

  • Utilize communications assets created by NetHope’s consultants and designers, including email templates, social posts, and one-pagers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve outreach materials based on field insights and participant feedback.

Deliverables

  • Detailed audience acquisition and outreach plan (delivered in Week 1)
  • Outreach calendar and segmented contact lists for both initiatives (Weeks 1–2)
  • Achievement of minimum weekly and overall participant sign-up targets
  • Weekly recruitment and outreach performance reports
  • Final comprehensive report with insights and recommendations for future audience engagement

Qualifications

Required:

  • At least 5 years of experience in audience acquisition, outreach, or community recruitment, ideally within nonprofit, digital learning, or campaign environments.
  • Proven success in promoting content and running paid or organic campaigns across digital platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting outreach data and adapting strategies accordingly.
  • Experience working with cross-functional, remote teams across multiple time zones.
  • Ability to craft clear, audience-specific value propositions and persuasive messaging.
  • Excellent project management, documentation, and reporting capabilities.
  • Self-motivated and able to independently meet recruitment targets.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with nonprofit networks, online learning ecosystems, or localization/global development topics.
  • Experience with CRM or campaign management tools like Salesforce, Asana, or Airtable.
  • Prior collaboration with NetHope members or experience in distributed NGO environments.

Contract Details

  • Remote contractor role, approximately 20 hours per week
  • Contract period: June 16 to October 31, 2025, with increased hours expected during June and October for onboarding and wrap-up
  • Flexible working schedule but availability for meetings across time zones is required
  • All contractors must pass an OFAC screening
