Internship Overview: Business Development Intern

CPCD invites passionate and driven individuals to apply for the Business Development Intern position. This remote internship offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Business Development Manager and gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of consulting for humanitarian and development sectors.

The intern will play a vital role in identifying new business opportunities and supporting the preparation and submission of high-quality proposals and bids targeted at a variety of clients, including UN agencies and international NGOs.

This role is perfect for candidates seeking to build foundational skills in business development, proposal writing, and client engagement within the international development context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing bids and proposals related to Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research (M&E), baseline and endline assessments, needs assessments, capacity-building initiatives, and other relevant projects.
  • Support the Business Development department by drafting and preparing technical proposals, ensuring that submissions meet the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the Business Development Head to identify and explore new business opportunities in alignment with CPCD’s strategic goals.
  • Contribute to timely and accurate submission of all proposal documents, managing timelines and adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Facilitate effective communication with clients during the proposal development process, maintaining professionalism and clarity.
  • Review and support the work of junior business development staff and interns to uphold quality assurance.
  • Take on additional business development tasks as needed to assist the organization in achieving its growth objectives.

Location and Work Environment

This position is remote, offering flexibility for candidates located anywhere. However, preference will be given to candidates residing within a three-hour time zone difference of Turkey, where CPCD’s core operations are based.

The intern will report directly to the Business Development Head and will work collaboratively with junior staff members within the Business Development unit, gaining exposure to a multicultural and dynamic work environment.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

  • Previous experience or strong interest in business development, especially in preparing bids and tenders related to M&E, research, or capacity building is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive, and compelling proposal content.
  • Native or highly proficient English speaker.
  • Relevant university degree, preferably in social sciences, monitoring and evaluation, development studies, or related fields.
  • Basic understanding of the humanitarian and development sectors and the challenges they face.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Comfortable working within multicultural teams and adaptable to a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn, grow professionally, and contribute proactively to team goals.

The internship offers remuneration based on the projects successfully awarded during the tenure. CPCD will conduct interviews with shortlisted candidates to discuss further details and expectations.
