To support this growth, we are seeking a visionary Director of Strategic Partnerships to lead high-impact collaborations that fuel innovation, scale, and social progress.
Role Summary
The Director of Strategic Partnerships will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive partnership strategy that aligns with FieldWorkz’s growth goals and mission. This individual will build and manage strategic relationships with global institutions, governments, development agencies, and corporate partners to unlock new opportunities for revenue, innovation, and influence.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned relationship-builder and strategic thinker who can represent FieldWorkz at the highest levels and turn partnerships into tangible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a partnership roadmap that aligns with business objectives and the company’s mission to democratize data.
- Identify opportunities for expansion through partnerships that enhance access to capital, innovation, data sources, and large-scale programming.
- Advise the executive team on trends in international development, technology, and data-driven partnerships.
Partnership Development
- Initiate, structure, and lead strategic alliances with actors in the public, private, and development sectors.
- Manage high-level negotiations, co-develop partnership proposals, and close long-term agreements with donors, multilaterals, government bodies, and corporate clients.
- Build relationships with key institutions, including the World Bank, USAID, UN agencies, major technology platforms, and other anchor organizations.
Cross-Functional Integration
- Collaborate across internal teams-Product, Insights, Growth, and Operations—to ensure effective delivery of partnership commitments.
- Support co-designed projects, platform integrations, and joint programs derived from strategic partnerships.
Business Development & Fundraising
- Work closely with the CEO and Business Development team to secure joint funding opportunities, co-investments, and responses to RFPs.
- Represent FieldWorkz at key industry events, forums, and conferences to strengthen visibility and cultivate new relationships.
Impact Measurement & Management
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for all partnerships in alignment with growth and impact objectives.
- Maintain dashboards and conduct strategic reviews to evaluate the health, sustainability, and contribution of each partnership to FieldWorkz’s mission.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Policy, Development, Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or related fields, ideally within data, research, technology, or international development.
- Demonstrated success in securing and managing high-value partnerships with governments, donors, multilaterals, or corporate entities.
- Deep familiarity with Africa’s innovation ecosystem and development landscape.
