About the ITF-NECA Technical Skills Development Programme (TSDP)

The ITF-NECA Technical Skills Development Programme (TSDP) is a strategic initiative jointly implemented by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), and Nigerian Breweries Plc. The programme aims to bridge the technical skills gap in Nigeria by equipping young Nigerians with practical, industry-relevant competencies.

This 9-month intensive training programme focuses on key areas such as Mechanical/Automation Maintenance & Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Logistics & Distribution. Participants receive hands-on training at the Nigerian Breweries Supply Chain Academy in Ibadan and undertake attachments at brewery locations across Nigeria, including Lagos, Aba, Enugu, Ota, and Kaduna.

TSDP offers free tuition, lunch, and a monthly stipend but does not confer employment status at Nigerian Breweries. Applicants must have graduated from an accredited institution no earlier than 2022 and completed their NYSC. Educational qualifications required include a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant disciplines at the HND or ND level.

This initiative promotes a public-private collaboration model in vocational training, supporting national development and enhancing the employability of Nigerian youth. Introduction

This intensive 9-month training program is designed to equip young Nigerians with practical skills in Mechanical/Automation Maintenance & Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Logistics & Distribution.

Program Objectives

  • Skill Acquisition: To provide youths with employable technical and scientific skills.
  • Public-Private Collaboration: To promote a Public–Private Sector Model in Vocational/Technical Skills Training, contributing to national capacity development.

Program Structure

  • Duration: 9 months
  • Training Locations: Supply Chain Academy of Nigerian Breweries Plc in Ibadan, with attachments at brewery locations in Lagos, Aba, Ibadan, Enugu, Ota, Ijebu Ode, and Kaduna.
  • Format: Non-residential, combining classroom instruction with hands-on practical experience.
  • Benefits: Free tuition and lunch. Participants will receive a monthly stipend to offset transportation costs. Please note that this program does not confer Nigerian Breweries employee status on the trainees.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Requirements:
    • Credit in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
    • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Physics, Instrument Engineering, or Computer Engineering, with a minimum of Lower Credit from recognized and accredited institutions.
    • National Diploma (ND) in Chemical Engineering, Biological and Physical Sciences, Food Science Technology, Laboratory Science, or Applied Physics, with a minimum of Lower Credit from recognized and accredited institutions.
  • Graduation: Graduated not earlier than 2022.
  • National Youth Service Corps (NYSC): Must have completed NYSC at the time of this advertisement.
