About VVOB and ACSL

VVOB is an international non-profit organisation committed to enhancing the quality of education systems in Africa, Asia, and South America. In partnership with the African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL), VVOB focuses on strengthening school leadership systems to improve teaching and learning outcomes across Africa. ACSL is a coalition of partners, including the Association for Development of Education in Africa (ADEA), Education Sub-Saharan Africa (ESSA), Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE), and VVOB, dedicated to promoting effective school leadership through professional development, research, and policy advice .

Role Overview

As the Country Liaison Advisor for ACSL, you will serve as the primary link between the multi-country programme and national partners in Rwanda or Kenya. Reporting to the ACSL Regional Coordinator, you will collaborate closely with global and country programme staff, as well as other LIT LEAD Partners, to ensure the programme aligns with national needs and contexts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Representation and Coordination: Act as the main contact for current and future implementation partners within the country, ensuring alignment of the programme with national needs and contexts.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate collaboration among national partners and connect them with the broader multi-country programme.
  • Needs Mapping: Conduct thorough assessments to identify opportunities and challenges within the country, ensuring a deep understanding of the national context.
  • Programme Support: Assist in setting up appropriate structures and working arrangements with partners, and support the delivery of project activities, including reporting and communication of updates.
  • Capacity Building: Support the development of professional development opportunities for education institutions and networks, fostering cooperation between ACSL and other stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Master’s degree in education or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years in school leadership or a related area, with a strong understanding of the regional education context and development partners.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English (CEFR Level C1); knowledge of French is an asset.
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in Rwanda or Kenya.
