The AWARD Climate Action (ACA) Fellowship is Now Accepting Applications for its 2nd Cohort!

Call for Applications: AWARD Climate Action Fellowship – Second Cohort
Deadline: 30 June 2025
The AWARD Climate Action (ACA) Fellowship is now accepting applications for its second cohort, aimed at accelerating African women’s leadership in climate action.
This fellowship seeks to address systemic gender inequalities and enhance the leadership and technical capacity of African women in the field of climate change adaptation.
About the Fellowship
The ACA Fellowship is designed to provide African women with the skills and knowledge they need to become leaders in climate change adaptation and to develop solutions that are not only sustainable but also gender-responsive.
By focusing on smallholder women farmers, the fellowship ensures that solutions are tailored to meet the unique challenges faced by this crucial demographic. Women farmers are at the heart of agricultural production in Africa, but they are often excluded from decision-making processes, with limited access to resources, technology, and markets. The ACA Fellowship aims to address these inequities by empowering women with the tools and opportunities to lead climate action projects that benefit their communities.
The fellowship’s intensive leadership development component ensures that each fellow is equipped with the skills needed to lead in complex and evolving contexts. This includes developing effective communication strategies, strategic planning, and advocacy skills to champion climate change adaptation policies.
Fellows will also receive gender integration training, which helps them understand the intersectionality of gender, climate change, and agriculture. This training is essential for designing interventions that are not only environmentally sound but also socially inclusive, ensuring that women’s voices are heard in all stages of the project cycle.
