Position Summary
The Senior Director, People & Culture (P&C) Technology is a key member of the leadership teams in both the P&C and IT departments. This role plays a vital part in shaping and delivering the digital tools and systems that support the global HR agenda. The position is responsible for aligning the Workday platform and related technologies with organizational objectives, improving the employee experience, and driving operational excellence across global People functions.
This role will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across IRC’s global network to deliver integrated, efficient, and strategic technology-enabled HR solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy and Systems Alignment
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement technology solutions, particularly within the Workday platform, that support business and workforce priorities.
- Align IRC’s digital HR tools with best practices to drive efficiency, compliance, and improved service delivery.
- Oversee governance processes for platform enhancements, ensuring security, scalability, and user-centric design.
2. Project and Platform Management
- Lead Workday-related projects from planning through implementation and maintenance, applying strong project governance and change management strategies.
- Support platform performance through continuous monitoring, issue resolution, and regular optimization.
- Maintain a robust product backlog, prioritizing features based on business impact and user feedback.
3. Operations and Service Excellence
- Drive delivery of high-quality services by balancing new development initiatives with ongoing production support.
- Facilitate end-user training and documentation to enhance adoption and usability of the Workday system.
- Lead testing efforts, ensuring all deployments meet functional and experience standards.
4. Leadership and Team Development
- Lead and mentor a globally distributed P&C Systems team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Support staff development through performance management, coaching, and career development planning.
- Ensure clear communication of expectations and support team wellbeing and professional growth.
5. Data-Driven Decision Making and Compliance
- Use analytics, user feedback, and industry trends to identify areas for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security standards, and organizational IT policies.
- Partner with IT to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of workforce data.
6. Vendor and Stakeholder Engagement
- Oversee selection and performance of external vendors and technology partners supporting the Workday ecosystem.
- Serve as the primary liaison between P&C, IT, and other internal stakeholders to ensure cross-functional collaboration and alignment.
Reporting and Collaboration
- Reports to: Senior Director of Enterprise Applications and Vice President of People and Culture through a Management in Partnership model.
- Direct Reports: Global P&C Systems Team.
- Works closely with: IT and P&C leadership, regional HR directors, business unit leads, and external HR technology providers.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Minimum 12 years of experience in HR technology, with a strong background in HR operations across key Centers of Excellence (COEs) such as Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and Performance Management.
- Proven experience implementing and managing HR processes using Workday is required.
- Experience leading system implementations and managing enterprise-level technology platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage global operations, lead diverse teams, and support large-scale organizational change.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to identify root causes and propose strategic solutions.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and navigating complex organizational structures.
- High-level communication skills, both verbal and written, across multicultural and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to balance compliance with a client-service orientation and support the delivery of an inclusive, employee-centered digital experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio); understanding of data governance and IT security practices.

- Familiarity with global diversity, equity, and inclusion (GDEI) frameworks and their integration into HR technology.
- Deep understanding of employee experience design and continuous improvement principles.
Working Conditions
- This position is remote with occasional travel (up to 10%) as required.
