Position Overview: Alliance Coordinator
The Alliance Coordinator will be a central figure in ensuring GAGGA’s internal coordination remains values-driven, strategic, and inclusive. Working remotely, this position requires someone who is committed to building stronger, more equitable relationships among alliance members and partners.
You’ll be instrumental in supporting the collective governance processes, helping to create spaces for learning, collaboration, and decision-making. The Alliance Coordinator will play a key role in coordinating shared planning and fostering trust and transparency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
As the Alliance Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following:
- Strengthen Collaboration: Support and strengthen collaboration across GAGGA’s alliance members, ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard, and their contributions are valued.
- Coordinate Shared Spaces: Organize and facilitate shared planning, learning, and governance spaces to help members align on key strategies and goals.
- Strategic Alignment: Help ensure alignment of strategies and practices across different regions and teams, enabling GAGGA to work cohesively towards common goals.
- Facilitate Internal Communication: Be the central point of contact for internal communication and facilitate the smooth flow of information across the alliance, keeping everyone engaged and informed.
- Foster Co-Creation and Trust-Building: Hold space for co-creation, trust-building, and movement-led decision-making, ensuring that all members are empowered to contribute to GAGGA’s work in meaningful ways.
- Support Collective Processes: Facilitate collective governance processes, ensuring that all voices, particularly from marginalized groups, are included in decision-making and strategy-setting.
Who Can Apply
GAGGGA is looking for a candidate with experience in alliance-building, facilitation, and feminist coordination & particularly value applicants who bring:
- Experience in Alliance Building: Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships within networks or coalitions, particularly in a global or multicultural setting.
- Feminist Organizing Experience: A solid understanding of feminist principles and experience in feminist organizing practices that promote gender justice and equity.
- Facilitation Skills: The ability to facilitate discussions and processes that enable collective decision-making, conflict resolution, and the development of shared strategies.
- Commitment to Collective Leadership: A deep commitment to collective leadership, where all voices are valued, and decision-making is decentralized and inclusive.
- Cross-Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to work across diverse cultures and regions, respecting and incorporating different perspectives and experiences into the work.
