Programme Overview

The FNB Graduate Programme is designed to offer high-potential graduates an opportunity to start their careers in a dynamic and innovative banking environment. Graduates will be placed in specific business units across FNB’s retail and commercial banking divisions. These teams are involved in a variety of mission-critical areas such as:

  • Credit Analytics
  • Product Development
  • Financial Management
  • Risk and Fraud Analysis
  • Process Engineering and Technology Development
  • Customer Experience and UX Design
  • Usability Research
  • Branding and Marketing Strategy

Participants will gain real-world experience through meaningful work assignments while also engaging in a structured development programme. This includes monthly training sessions, a strategic action learning project, and various cross-functional team activities aimed at fostering holistic growth.

Responsibilities

As a participant in the FNB Graduate Programme, your responsibilities will include:

  • Customer Engagement: Deliver outstanding service by attentively identifying customer needs and offering creative, relevant solutions.
  • Operational Efficiency: Execute daily tasks effectively, plan and prioritize responsibilities, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely updates to internal systems.
  • Innovation Participation: Actively engage in brainstorming and innovation sessions. Contribute ideas and collaborate with team members to develop and test new solutions aligned with the business strategy.
  • Professional Development: Expand your skills and knowledge by participating in training initiatives, contributing to cross-functional projects, and staying informed about emerging trends in your field.
  • Personal Growth: Take ownership of your learning journey by completing assigned training modules, attending relevant workshops or seminars, and continuously seeking opportunities to grow in line with FNB’s values and performance culture.

Entry Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Academic Qualification: Currently completing the final year of a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree (transcript must be submitted with application).
  • Field of Study: Preferred degrees include but are not limited to:
    • Actuarial Science
    • Mathematics or Statistics
    • Data Science
    • Engineering (any discipline)
    • Physics or Chemistry
    • Information Systems
    • Computer Science
    • UX Design (Usability and Customer Experience)
    • Business Science or Commerce (Finance, Economics, etc.)
  • Skill Set:
    • Strong analytical and numeric reasoning abilities
    • Proficient in problem-solving and critical thinking
    • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
    • A proactive and curious mindset, eager to learn and contribute
    • Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to work well under pressure
