The Karsh International Scholarship provides comprehensive financial support for the full duration of a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree at Duke University. This includes tuition, accommodation, meals, required fees, research opportunities, and support for unpaid internships and other academic experiences.

What the Karsh International Scholarship Covers

The scholarship is not restricted by nationality, and students from any country (excluding U.S. citizens and dual nationals with U.S. citizenship) are welcome to apply.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Karsh International Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be an international student: Applicants must not hold U.S. citizenship or permanent residency. Dual citizens, including one with U.S. nationality, are not eligible.
- Apply to Duke University as a first-year undergraduate student: Applicants must be planning to start their first undergraduate degree in the Fall of 2025.
- Cannot already hold a BA or BSc degree: Students who have completed a prior undergraduate degree are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Demonstrate exceptional academic performance: A strong academic record, leadership potential, and community engagement are key factors in selection.
- Demonstrate financial need: Applicants must submit a financial aid application to be considered.
- Open to all disciplines: The scholarship is available regardless of the applicant’s chosen field of study.
How to Apply
There is no separate application for the Karsh International Scholarship. To be considered:
- Apply to Duke University for undergraduate admission by the early decision or regular decision deadline.
- Indicate your intention to apply for financial aid in the admissions application.
- Submit the required financial aid documents (including the CSS Profile or other supporting documents as required by Duke).
Applicants who complete both their admission and financial aid applications will automatically be considered for the Karsh International Scholarship.
Application Deadline
The deadline to apply for admission and financial aid for the 2025–2026 academic year is:
- November 1, 2025
Late applications will not be considered, so prospective students are encouraged to prepare and submit all necessary documents well before the deadline.
